NEW -->Joyce Golightly-Williams NEW YORK, NY-- On Friday, September 19, 2008, God visited the Flower Garden of Beauty and plucked the Rose of a Beautiful Life and whispered, "Come Home My Child." Joyce Golightly-Williams of 118-15 19th Street, St. Albans, New York, entered that Flower Garden of Beauty on Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Parker Jewish Institute, New Hyde Park, New York. She was born in Spartanburg County, Spartanburg, South Carolina on October 20, 1944. She was preceded in death by parents, Jessie L. Drummond-Stultz and Clarence Golightly and Lillie B. Drummond-Golightly. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a loyal member of the Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church, Wellford, South Carolina. Upon moving to New York, she attended St. Albans Presbyterian Church in St. Albans, New York. She was a graduate of Florence Chapel High School, Wellford, South Carolina, Class of 1961. Upon graduating from high school, she furthered her education at the Tuskegee University of Alabama earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. She retired from the Open Door Childcare Center, Manhattan, New York after thirty-four years of service. She leaves to cherish a dedicated, fond, loving husband, Frank Williams of St. Albans, New York of forty-two years; three sisters, Gloria Golightly-Hendricks (Charles) of Freeport, New York, Paula Drummond-Davis (Wilmer) of Wellford, South Carolina, Carol Drummond-Dowtin (Kevin) of Roosevelt, New York; one brother, Ralph Stultz (Sheila) of Norcross, Georgia; three uncles, Clyde Golightly (Lathan) of Inman, South Carolina, Herman Golightly of Fletcher, New York, Homer Golightly of Los Angeles, California; one aunt, Ozella Gaynor of Fletcher, New York; one sister-in-law, Ollie Williams, of Brooklyn, New York; a bountiful blessing of first cousins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will be at the home of 125 Old Landfill Road, Wellford, SC, beginning Thursday, September 25, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church, Wellford, SC. Rev. James T. Brewton will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.J. W. Woodward Funeral Home
