EDMUNDS - Joyce "Jo" (Damon) Cox, 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away July 15, 2008, with her family by her side at a Calais hospital. She was born April 2, 1935, in Charlotte, the daughter of Roy and Edwina (Cambridge) Damon. She was employed for many years with Holmes Packing, as well as worked many years as a certified nursing assistant for many area health care institutions. She enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Red Sox, and also enjoyed knitting. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John L. Cox; a son, John R. Cox and his wife, Katherine; twin daughters, Janet and her husband, Billy Barnes, of Edmunds, and Joan and her husband, Jackie Cushing, of Pembroke; her grandchildren, Melissa and her companion, Jeremy and their daughter, Kylie Brown, Jessica, Katilyn and Kayla Cox, Timothy and Nicholas Barnes, Jennifer and John Cushing; a stepgrandchild, Darren Kuykendall and his wife, Heather and their children, Madison and Jasmine; two brothers, Keith and Laurence; four sisters, Grace Hatton, Ruth Nuttall, Rowena Cousins and Maybelle Pratt; also many brothers-in-law, as well as sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Roy E. Jr. and Willis; and one sister, Helen "Betty" Faucher. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Round Pond Cemetery, Charlotte, with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating.
