Joyce Griffin Collins, 84, of 322 N. Old Grove Road, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Hospice of the Upstate. Born in Hart County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late J.W. and Icie Craft Griffin. Mrs. Collins was retired from Myers Arnold and Belk and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Bailey and Raymond Michael McCoy of Hickory, N.C.; a son, James William Bailey of the home; two granddaughters, Rita G. Lister and Janice G. Owen; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James William Bailey; and her second husband, John Silas Collins. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2008, from 12 to 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel.
