Obituary of Joyce Carter

Mrs. Joyce Carter, 73 of Hoschton, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009. A daughter of the late Henry and Dora Etheridge Gilliland, she was the widow of Harold Carter. She had resided in Barrow County for most of her life and had attended Bethabra Baptist Church. Surviving are children, Wade Carter of Pendergrass and Lori Hudson of Hoschton,; seven grandchildren; a great- grandchild; sister, Betty Brady of Cornelia; brothers, Quinton Gilliland Sr., of Hoschton, Charlie Gilliland of Talladega, Ala., and Roy Gilliland of Cleveland. Funeral services were Monday, July 6, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Webster officiating. Interment was in Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622. Carter Funeral Home of Winder was in charge of arrangements.
