ANDERSON, Joyce SylviaIt is with much sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Anderson on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Joyce was born in Dahlton, a rural community in northern Saskatchewan where her father had homesteaded. She attended school in the area, then began her banking career in Nipawin. She later moved to Saskatoon where she was employed with the Bank of Montreal. After transferring to Calgary, she married her special long-time friend Selmer ("Sam") Anderson (December 24, l956). They enjoyed many wonderful years together until his passing in 1985. Joyce was predeceased by her siblings, Mildred Harper, Hazel Arnold, and Harry Wilson. She leaves behind a niece Janice Wilson (Saskatoon); three nephews, Dr. Don Wilson (Vancouver), Bill Harper (Edmonton), and Ted Arnold (Calgary); sister-in-law Eunice Wilson (Saskatoon), many cousins and good friends. Joyce lived life to the fullest and had a great sense of humor. She cared for all and was a very dear friend. She very much enjoyed her work with the Bank of Montreal, often talked of the fun she had with her fellow workers. She enjoyed good fun, sharing great food with friends, marathon shopping, watching hockey and football, gardening in her lovely yard, baking for friends, and helping out whoever and whenever she could. Joyce was an avid reader and kept herself informed of world affairs. A Celebration of Joyce's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W., located at the Crowfoot LRT Station exit) on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family will be invited to relate their special memories of Joyce at that time. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . In lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to STARS, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary T2E 8M7 ( www.stars.ca ) or directly to the Salvation Army, 420 - 9 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 0R9 (Telephone 403-410-1111, www.salvationarmy.org ). In living memory of Joyce Anderson, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park, Cochrane.
