Miller, Joyce A. GILBERT, Ariz. Joyce A. Miller, 62, of Gilbert, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 3, 2010 at home. Joyce was born in Albany the daughter of late John and Mary Chappelle, formerly of Waterloo, Quebec. She was a secretary for Watervliet Arsenal and then working at Sterling Winthrop research as a lab tech for many years Then becoming a nurse's aide at the Homestead and the Atria. She then went to work in housekeeping at Memorial Hospital before moving to Ariz. where she was a crossing guard for Walker Butte Elementary in Queen Creek, Ariz. Joyce loved animals and helping those who couldn't help themselves. Joyce was an enthusiastic lifelong Jets fan and never missed a game. Joyce is survived by her two sons, Stephen E. Miller Jr. (Terri) of Rensselaer, N.Y., Timothy J. Miller (Dawn) of Gilbert, Ariz.; three sisters, Jean Wood of Colonie, N.Y., Joan (Derrick) Newton of Las Vegas, Nev., Linda (Dennis) Beach of Colonie and one brother, John (Vivian) Chappelle of Manchester, N.H.; and her cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan, Filicia, Sammy, and Zach. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Penny and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc., 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, N.Y. Friends may call in the funeral home Tuesday from 4-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home immediately prior to the funeral.
