Josephine Todd, born Aug. 30, 1917, in Wichita Falls, Texas, departed this life on June 21, 2008, to be with her Lord and Savior. She has resided in Crestview since 1965. She retired from civil service after 38 years of ser-vice at Eglin Air Force Base. She was also co-owner of Todd's Flower Nursery. Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her husband, Pleasant Todd. She is survived by five children: Sherry Williams of Sunrise, Fla., Phillip Williams and wife, Frances of Fort Smith, Ark., Marla Hall and husband, Don of Pasadena, Texas, Rhonda Grandstaff and husband Jerry of Dothan, Ala., and Darlene Peterson and husband, Cedric of Crestview, Fla. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Todd served as a Senior Adult Ladies Sunday school teacher at Central Baptist Church for several years. She received her associate's degree at the age of 63 and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She was a world traveler and loved traveling with her friends. While we are saddened by her death, the family asks that we join them in celebrating her answered prayer to go to her heavenly home. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Josephine's life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery. Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home is entrusted with ar-rangements.
