She will rest in peace at Elmwood Cemetery, Jackson, TN.She was born in Jackson, TN on November 12, 1924 to Athal Myles Smith and Maggie Kate Smith Meriwether. Josephine attended Merry High School and Lane College in Jackson. Surviving are three daughters and one son, Brenda Jasper (Napoleon), Gabrielle Fair (Louis), Andrea Ewing-Thomas (Anthony) and Ephraim Ewing, Jr.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
