Josephine (Jo) Jones, 84, of Statham, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009.Born in Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Alma Stephens Dailey. A homemaker, she was married to the late George Jones. A member of Statham First Baptist Church, she was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy.Survivors are daughters, Delores and Donald Aycock of Statham and Debbie and David Huth of Statham; grandchildren, Tangela Bernius, Latrelle Aycock and Eric Huth; great-grandchildren, Micaela Bernius and Jeremy Bernius; brother, Ted Dailey of Jefferson; and sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Nathan Mize of Commerce.Services were Monday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. at Statham First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Thornton officiating. Interment was in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Statham First Baptist, Micaela and Jeremy Bernius Education Fund.Smith Funeral Home had charge of the service.
