Joseph Robert Williams, 56, of Gillette, N.J., will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, with his father, Robert L. Williams, in Luzerne County Pa. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains, Pa. Joe was born Jan. 5, 1957, to Robert and Dorothy Smeroski Williams in New Brunswick, N.J. He graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in 1975. After high school, he attended and graduated from Rutgers with a degree in religion and economics and played on the Rutgers baseball team. Joe was a highly devoted and conscientious person. He helped care for his invalid mother with his father for many years, and cared deeply about his family. He was a loyal, selfless person who gave little regard to himself; he preferred to focus on family and his work. Everyone who knew Joe hopes that he is at peace right now alongside his father.
