Joseph R. McGee, 77, died June 19, 2007, at Kindred Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. He was born in Peekskill, N.Y., and lived in Stuart for the past 18 years, coming from his birthplace. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Before retirement he was a sergeant for the New York State Parkway Police. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound and of the Elks Club 744 in Peekskill. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sara A. "Sally" McGee of Stuart; son, Joseph R. McGee Jr. of Pawling, N.Y.; sister, Mary Martin of Peekskill, N.Y.; brother, William McGee of Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas A. and George McGee; and one sister, Gertrude Sheppard. SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. June 23 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Young & Prill Funeral Home in Stuart.
