Services for Joseph Phillip Carter 81 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday January 14 2002 at First Baptist Church in McKenzie TN. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville TN. Mr. Carter a retired rural postal carrier died Saturday January 12 2002 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. He was a member of First Baptist Church VFW WWII Army Veteran DAV American Legion and Masonic Lodge Caledonia Lodge 96. He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Phillip Carter. Survivors include his wife Lela Provo Carter of McKenzie TN; two daughters Karen Kail of Memphis TN and Sherry Robinson of Lavinia TN; three grandchildren Will Robinson III Emily Robinson and Carter Robinson.
