Obituary of Joseph-John Carter


CARTER, Joseph JohnAge 43 of Pleasant View, TN, died Sunday, September 15, 2008 at Old Hickory, TN. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel, with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Carter was born June 27, 1965 in Tulsa, OK. He was retired CW-3 with the US Army. Currently, he was employed as a logistics officer with Osborne Hessey Corp. Joe was a bronze star decorated officer, serving two tours in Iraq prior to retiring in 2007. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sondra Eagle Sanford. Survivors include his father, Ray Sanford, Sulphur Springs, TX; his wife, Jennifer Bowser Carter and a son, Jason Carter, Pleasant View, TN; two brothers, Sam Carter (Sabrina), Mesquite, TX and Scott Sanford, Dallas, TX; and two sisters, Suzanne Sanford, Dallas, TX and Stephanie Kaufert (Bobby), Sulphur Springs, TX.
