Joseph Hebert, born in 1914, spouse of Margaret Hance, son of John E and Mary, father of John, died on February 14, 2005 at 60 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
JOSEPH AMBROSE HEBERT-- COLCHESTER — Joseph “Joe“ Hebert passed away at his home Feb. 14, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was born in Burlington, on Dec. 7, 1914, the son of John E. and Mary (Prunier) Hebert. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1934, and went to work for McAuliffe Paper Co. soon after. He remained employed there for nearly 60 years. He married Margaret “Peg“ Hance in October 1944, and together they shared 58 wonderful years. She predeceased him in 2003. He was also predeceased by a son, John Thomas, in 1964. Joe and Peg were devoted to their family: Marybeth of Barre, Kevin and his wife Rosemary of Milton, Martha Jo of South Burlington, Ann and her husband Michael Gingrass of Colchester; and their grandsons, Kyle and Joel Hebert. He is survived by his brother, Robert and his wife Shirley; and his sister, Lorraine Safford, all of Burlington. Family gatherings for birthday celebrations and holidays were always a delight. During their years together Joe and Peg shared a close relationship with their Lord. They were both very active in Full Gospel Crusade and were co-pastors of New Hope Voice of Victory Church. Joe was also active in prison ministry. All who met Joe immediately recognized his seemingly infinite gentleness and kindness. Though a man of few words, he was a man of many actions, giving freely of himself to help his family and many friends in any way possible. He never uttered a cross word, choosing instead to offer a constant smile, and displaying a sincere love for life. He truly was a gentle man. The family would like to thank those who contributed to his care, especially the Visiting Nurse Association, McClure 5 nurses, and Doctors Jennifer Gilwee, Stephen Grant, John Fitzgerald, and Glen Goldman. Visiting hours will be Saturday, Feb. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 N. Winooski Ave., Burlington. A celebration of Joe's life will be held immediately following. Committal will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery Annex in the spring. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the charity of your choice is encouraged. Arrangements are by Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors.
