Obituary of Joseph-B. Hyatt


Joseph B. Hyatt, age 94, of Carneys Point passed away on Tuesday August 7, 2012 at South Gate Health Care Center in Carneys Point. Born in Ansonville, NC, son of the late Paris Hyatt and Rose Mae Lowder Hyatt, he had been an area resident since 1940. Mr. Hyatt served in the US Navy during WWII and retired as plant manager for Airco in Pedricktown in 1980. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Pedricktown and had been an avid sportsmen, enjoying hunting and fishing. He is survived by his daughters, JoAnn Gryszkiewicz of Brick, NJ, Nancy (Steve) Eder of Drexel Hill, PA, three grandchildren, Casey Gryszkiewicz, Krissie (Shawn) Sclavunos and Laura (Mark) Cole as well as three great grandchildren, Nikolas Sclavunos, Kestra Cole and Arwen Cole. Mr. Hyatt was predeceased by his first wife Miriam B. in 1996, his second wife Marguerite in 2010 and a brothers, Clarence, Roy and Guy. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday in the ASHCRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 47 State St., Penns Grove where there will be a viewing from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will follow in Eglington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Pedricktown, 89 West Mill St., Pedricktown, NJ 08067. www.ashcraftfuneralhomes.com
