EADDY, Joseph A., M.D., 74, of Belleair, Fla., died Thursday, June 30, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Muriel Eaddy; two sons, Joseph A. Eaddy Jr. and Morris B. Eaddy, both of Clearwater; two daughters, Lisa Janine Eaddy Longoria of Lake Forest, Ill., and Lynette Eaddy Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; and seven beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth McInnis Eaddy and Wilbur Fisk Eaddy Jr., and his parents, Wilbur Fisk Eaddy and Lois Morris Eaddy. Dr. Eaddy was a native of Bushnell, Fla., attended the University of Florida and graduated from Emory University Medical School, class of 1955. Dr. Eaddy was a major in the U.S. Air Force and practiced medicine for 40 years in Clearwater. He served as president of the medical staff and was a member of the board of trustees at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Fla., in addition to other leadership roles. A memorial service followed by a reception will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at First United Methodi st Church, 411 Turner St., Clearwater, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to in the name of J. A. Eaddy, M.D., to the Morton Plant Mease Foundation, 1200 Druid Road S., Clearwater, FL 33756. All gifts will fund the hospital's Medical Excellence Program.
