JONES Vincent Morris Jones, age 76, of Live Oak, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2002 at North Florida Regional Hospital, Gainesville, FL after a brief illness. He was a Deacon and member of Westwood Baptist Church since 1953. Mr. Jones served as District 3 school board member for Suwannee Co. Schools, also a member and past president of Live Oak Lions Club. Mr. Jones was the son of Wade and Elsie (Sheffield) Jones of Trenton. He taught Vocational Agriculture in the County system for sixteen years then became Vocational Director for Suwannee County. Mr. Jones Retired in 1990 after 38 years of service. After retirement, he was actively involved, serving Florida Retired Educators as State Legislative Chairman. He was the First Ranch Manager at Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch in 1958 & 1959 and honorary member of Alpha Gamma Rho Agriculture Fraternity at University of Florida. He is survived by his wife, Grace of 51 years, three sons, Cecil Vincent (Sonny) Jones, (Jackie) of Live Oak, Michael Jones (Helen) of Live Oak, David Jones of Beverly Hills, CA; one daughter, Susan Eng (Jing) of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also survived by six grandchildren: 1st Lt. Lee Vincent (Stacy) Jones, U.S. Air Force serving in the Middle East, Candice Land (Leon) of Live Oak, Kathryn Grace Eng and Morgan Eng, Jessie and James Michael Jones of Live Oak; God-son of Lake City Buddy McHenry. Two sisters: Myrtle Scruggs (Jim), Trenton, FL and Lois Howard (Reginald), Los Angeles, CA; three brothers: Russell (Willie Mae) and Prieston Jones (Wanda) both of Trenton, FL, and Dan “ Corky” Jones, Richton, MS. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Parker, Rev. Jim Robinett, & Dr. Jimmy Deas officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Greg Douglas officiating. Trenton, FL.
