Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Johnny Randall "Randy" Smith, 64, Altoona, who died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012. The Rev. Ernest Campbell will officiate. He lived most of his life in Etowah County. He was a graduate of Gadsden High School and had four years of continuing education in speech and hearing/child psychology classes in Los Angeles, Calif., before returning to Alabama in 1982.Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Hazel Hanks, Newt and Mattie Smith; and stepfather, Donald W. Udell.Randy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted family, wife, Pamela Smith; father, Johnny R. Smith; mother, Bettye L. Udell; brother, Terry G. Smith; son, Airman Jesse R. (April) Smith; daughter, Meashell Clements; grandson, Hayden Clements; granddaughter, Hayley Clements; special aunt, Maxine Rowan; mother-in-law, Lucille Minshew; sister-in-law, Pat (Dan) Nelson; brother-in-law, Larry (Kathy) Minshew; stepdaughter, Tarrah (Casey) Kilpatrick, and their children, Gracie, Jacob and Sawyer.
