Obituary of John-William-Cartwright III


CARTWRIGHT, JOHN WILLIAM, III, "BILL," 81, of Louisville, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at his daughter's residence in Florence, KY. He was the retired owner of Magic Construction and Kitchen Compact Company and a retired manager of the Ridgedale Apartments, all located in Louisville. He was a former minor league football player in Pittsburgh, PA, for a team affiliated with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of St. Barnabus Catholic Church in Louisville and a World War II veteran of the Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannine Mercke Cartwright, and a brother, Ronald Cartwright. Survivors include his daughters, State Representative Addia Wuchner of Florence and Jodyann McNaughton of Louisville; four grandchildren; five great-grand-children; and a great-aunt, Elizabeth Creedy of McKeesport, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Burlington, KY, with cremation to follow. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of Mass at the church. Arrangements by Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington. Memorial gifts may be made to Spiritual Bouquets and Masses or the building fund at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005.
