John Wesley Faulk III, 78, of St. Augustine, died Dec. 1, 2010, at Kindred Hospital North Florida. He was born in Jacksonville and had resided in St. Augustine since 1978. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and the University of Florida, where he received a scholarship to play football. Upon graduation from college he entered the U.S. Navy and served until 1955. He then began his career in sales, which he continued until his retirement.John was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a member of the St. Augustine Exchange Club, and he also worked closely with the St. Augustine Airport Authority to help bring the Thunderbirds here to perform.Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.Flowers are gratefully declined. Faulk, St. Augustine, and Kenneth, Kevin, Troy and Eric Faulk, all of Jacksonville; two daughters, Tracy Thomas, Elkton, Stacy Macias, Fayetteville, N.C.; sister, Mary Faulk, Arlington, Texas; brother, Andrew Faulk, Columbus, Ga.; his lifetime companion, Janice Watson; stepdaughter, Beth Watson, both of St. Augustine; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
