John Wesley Ellis, 65, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at his residence. He is the son of the late James Wallace and Reva Hazel Dedman EllisJohn was a farmer and the owner of Ellis Trucking & Service Station.He was a 35 year member of the Elks Lodge #530 in Frankfort and an avid U.K. Fan.He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy Paul Ellis, three children, Kim Ellis Cottingham of Versailles, John Wesley Ellis Jr. and Michael Alan Ellis (Lori), both of Lawrenceburg, three grandchildren Chad, Mackenizie and Mallory Ellis, three sisters Helen Rudd of Texas, Betty Manley (Clayton) and Peggy Beasley (Sam) both of Lawrenceburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Montgomery, and three brothers, Jerry Ellis, Paul Ellis and Tommy Ellis.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Dave Disponette, Coy and Johnny Stratton, Kenny Smith, Philip Akins, Scott Carpenter, Geral Drury, and Darrell Burgin.Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
