WILLIAMS John W. Williams, 97, died Saturday, February 23, 2002 in a local nursing home. Born December 27, 1904 in Folkston, Ga., he was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. He was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was the owner of Dandee Catering for over 40 years. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 73 years, Carrie Mullis Williams; 5 nephews, William E. Weathers, Jr., Eugene Mullis, and Buck Gordon of Jacksonville, Dillard Mullis of Anchorage, Alaska, and William Mullis of Springfield, Mo.; 4 nieces, Dorothy Walker of Lakeland, Ga., Bunny Speers of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Jacquelyn Wright and Joyce Dasinger of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many greatnieces, great-nephews, great-great- nieces and great-great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Northside Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
