Walls, John W., 84, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Kansas City, MO, and Republic, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2008, at his home. John was born February 29, 1924 in Republic to the late Thomas C. and Susanna Rose Walls. He was known as "Jay" to his friends and family. He enjoyed working for 25 years at Halls Department Store in Kansas City, MO, where he managed the fine jewelry department. He was a fun-loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Edgar, George, and Robert Walls, and by his sisters, Evelyn Collins, Elaine Walls, and Juanita Ginsberg. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received at First Christian Church of Republic, PA on Friday, September 12th, at 11:00 a.m. John's nephew, Dr. W. Darwin Collins, will officiate at a memorial service. Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to a favorite charity are requested.
