-> John W. "Jack" Osteen, III, 64, died November 19, 2004 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. The lifelong Savannah resident was born October 17, 1940, son of the late John W. Osteen, Jr. and Louise Harvard Osteen. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and attended Armstrong State Junior College and University of Georgia. Mr. Osteen worked for many years as the Wine Sales Supervisor for Alko Distributors until six years ago when they were purchased by United Distributors where he continued to work in sales. He was a member of St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church where he was very active in the choir. He was a veteran of the 165th Georgia Air National Guard and a member of the adoption group, Savannah Greyhounds as Pets. Surviving are his wife, Sally Andrews Osteen of Savannah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren and Matt Klein of Savannah; Amy and Gary Long of Green Cove Springs, FL; sister, Nancy O. Dewbe rry of Savannah; mother-in-law, Martha Andrews of Savannah; five granddaughters, Victoria, Madison and Amberley Klein all of Savannah; Lacie and Emily Long of Green Cove Springs, FL; niece and nephew, Kathryn and Andy Brodmann of Savannah; and grand nephews, Andrew, Scotty and Michael Brodmann all of Savannah. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2004 at St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church with The Reverend Jim Shumard, officiating. Burial: St. Francis of the Islands Memorial Gardens with a reception following in the church parish hall.
