-> John W. Allen III, 53, died on November 4, 2003 at the VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA after long illness. Mr. Allen was a native of Savannah, GA. He was a member of First Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and a 1969 graduate of A.E. Beach High School. He served in the U. S. Army, earned a B.S. Degree from Savannah State College in 1976, and a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He was a former employee of Sears and Dillards Department Store. Survivors: wife, Sheila M. Allen; daughter, Devaki K. Allen, son, Demetrius Allen; mother, Elizabeth Allen; sister, Susie B. Elliott; brothers, Ronald Allen, Kenneth Allen and Melvin Brown; Delores and Lawrence Maxwell; and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday from 1st Jeresalem Missionary Baptist Church. Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery. Sidney A.
