John Tower, 79, Venice, died Nov. 13, 2002. He was born June 14, 1923, in Cohasset, Mass., and came to Venice in 1991 from Sandwich, Mass. He retired in 1985 as a safe technician at the Mosler Safe Co. in the New England area. He was a Navy aviation ordnanceman first class with the B-24 Liberators Fleet, Air Wings 7, during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 159 in Venice. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Audrey; a daughter, Kathryn of Worcester, Mass.; a son, Mark of Sandwich; sisters Jane Brown of Ocoee and Helen Luscombe of Cohasset; brothers Sargent of Woodbury, Conn., Frederick of Sebastian and Eugene of Scituate, Mass.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be private. Inurnment will be in National Cemetery in Massachusetts. National Cremation Society, Venice chapter, is in charge.
