DOVER — John Thomas Flanagan passed away peacefully in Upland, Cali. on Saturday August 25 surrounded by family. John was born in Dover, to James and Yvonne Flanagan. John served as a proud member of the Unites Sates Marine Corps and was dearly beloved by his family and friends. He was known and loved for his positive outlook, wit and humor. John had many wonderful attributes but none more precious than the love he shared with his family. He will truly be missed.He was preceded in death by his father, James, his mother, Yvonne and his brother Richard. John is survived by Nora, his wife of 33 years; his children, Dianne, Colleen, John, Holly and Nora and their families; including 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by eight siblings, James, Francis, Ann, Barbara, Sheila, Alicia, Owen and Thomas as well as their families. A memorial service for John was held at 12 p.m. on Friday September 7 at Arlington Mortuary located at 9645 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, Cal. 92503. Internment services immediately followed at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, Cali. 92518. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to send donations to the Disabled American Veterans. A celebration of his life continued at the family residence immediately following the services.
