John Theodore'Ted' DavisDecaturFuneral service for John Theodore "Ted" Davis, 49, of Decatur, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at St. Luke's Methodist Church with Bro. Mike Free, the Rev. Randy VanLandingham and Pastor White officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Garden Cemetery with Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.Ted, who died, Monday, December 27, 2010, was born August 23, 1961. He was an employee of Construction Services and Wolverine Tube from which he retired. He faithfully attended St. Luke's Church, Decatur Christian Fellowship Church, Decatur Baptist Church and was a member at Cornerstone Church in Moulton. Ted loved his family, friends and church friends whose love was so treasured by him. He was happy singing and worshiping his Lord and Savior until the end. Preceding him in death were his father, Jimmy Davis; his grandparents, James Davis Sr., Ruby Marie Davis and John Rolf Smith. He is survived by his mother, Linda Smith Davis; his grandmother, "MeMaw" Lucile O. Smith; a twin brother, Tim Davis and his wife, Mary Davis; sister, Michelle Davis; children, Rachel Davis, Blake Davis and Chassidi Fromhold; grandchildren, Brayden and Dakota; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a special great-nephew, Jakai, "his little buddy."Pallbearers will be Russell Davis, Michael Smith, Matthew Smith, Melvin Lattiner, Greg Lane and Josh Turner.Honorary pallbearers will be the Wednesday Morning Men's Bible Study whose friendship, support and fellowship meant so much to Ted and which he was honored to be a part of.
