Obituary of John Stuart


John "Jack" Stuart died Sept. 23, 2011, in Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, N.J. He was 75. Visiting will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, N.J. Service is on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery. Born in Port Glasgow, Scotland, Mr. Stuart emigrated to the U.S. in 1962. He lived in Kearny, N.J., before moving to Clifton, N.J., 25 years ago. Jack served in the British Merchant Marines and was an avid soccar fan, always enjoying his favorite Glasgow Celtics. He was a member of the Irish American and The Celtic supporters, having served as their treasurer, both in Kearny. He attended Mass for many years at the Holy Face Monastery. Son of the late Donald and Elizabeth, he is survived by his loving companion and her daughter, Ann and Arlene Murin. He was loving Poppy to Tracey, Kailey, Kelsy and Kara. Jack was also the brother of Donald and James Stuart, Ann Bradley, Myra Morrison and the late George and Derick Stuart and Betty Ryan.
