Obituary of John-Stuart Whalley


WHALLEY, JOHN STUART - John Stuart "Stu" Whalley of Craft's Cove, NB and Delray Beach, FL died at home in New Brunswick on November 23, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed with his loving wife Winnifred and son Brock by his side. He was born January 23, 1937 in Halifax, NS, the third son of the late John and Margaret Whalley, and grew up in Saint John, NB. Stu had a wonderful career flying, first as a fighter pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and then for more than 30 years as an airline pilot based in Toronto with Air Canada. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Winnifred (nee Armstrong), his son Brock, and daughter-in-law Krista. He will also be greatly missed by his extended family and many loving friends. There will be a celebration of his life held in the Toronto area at a later date. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of the Oncology Department of the Saint John Regional Hospital and the nurses of the Sussex Extra-Mural Program.
