Obituary of John-Strutt II


John A. Strutt II, 86, of Crystal River, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010. Mr. Strutt was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, on Feb. 9, 1922, but grew up in Ridgeway, WI. He was the son of the late John A. Strutt I and Mary Owens Strutt.He is survived by his wife, Audrey Jonas-Strutt; son, John A. Strutt III (Peggy), of Mahtomedi, MN; daughters, Mary Kay Scholl (Bob), of Roseville, MI; Chris Zuleger (Chet), of Horicon, WI; and Sarah Burr (Bill), of Eufaula, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.Mr. Strutt was a Navy pilot during WWII, serving over the Pacific. His lifelong love of aviation led him to build his own plane which he enjoyed flying for many years. He was an artist and retired from the Minneapolis Star Tribune as art director. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lecanto, and an active member of Faith Men's Club.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church in Lecanto. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Neptune Society.Sign the guest book at www.chronicleonline.com.
