ObituaryJohn S. 'Jack' Capper, III, 69, Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Star City, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001 at HealthPark Medical Center, Fort Myers, FL. Son of the late John Sheville and Romaine Tiffany Capper, Jr., he was born April 23, 1931 in Star City, IN. On Nov. 19, 1948, in Star City, IN he married Bernice Haselby, she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1982. Jack lived most of his life in Star City, moving to Florida in 1986. He was a retired farmer and formerly worked for Sears for 10 years in Florida. He was a member of the Star City United Methodist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Colleen (her companion Bridget Birdsall), Madison, WI; sons: John S. (Jill) Capper, IV, Crawfordsville, IN, Douglas (Sandy) Capper, Winamac, IN and Barry (Karen) Capper, Plymouth, IN; grandchildren: Cameron Capper and Bailey Capper of Plymouth, IN, Chris Capper of Bloomington, IN, Karen Capper, Indianapolis, IN, Courtney Capper and Victoria Capper of Crawfordsville, IN and Quinn Schwellinger of Madison, WI. Sisters, Betty Ley, Melbourne, FL, Virginia Kirsel, Rochester, IN, Marilyn Heinsen, Punta Gorda, FL and brother, Thomas Capper. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elizabeth Capper. Private funeral services will be held at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, IN, Sunday, March 4, 2001. Burial will take place in the McKinley Memorial Gardens, located at Winamac, IN.
