John-S. Boroski, born in 1918, spouse of Clara-C. -Wozniak Boroski, son of Wladislaw and Apolonia, father of James W, N. Y and Sandra Boroski, died on May 17, 2005 at 86 years old.
AMSTERDAM John S. Boroski, 86, of Dania Drive, Hagaman, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a brief illness. Born in Schenectady, N.Y. on October 23, 1918, the son of Wladislaw (Walter) and Apolonia (Pauline) Boroski. He lived in Schenectady most of his life until he married. He was a graduate of St. Adalbert Elementary School and the former Mt. Pleasant High School, both in Schenectady. Mr. Boroski served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as a paratrooper in the Airborne Division. In his early years he was employed at the former Mica Insulator in Schenectady. He later worked at the Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Co. in Amsterdam for a long period of time as a weaver. He was last employed for the Greater Amsterdam School District until his retirement in 1980. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and was a member of the Sacred Heart Society and the Holy Name Society of the Church. Mr. Boroski was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Schenectady. He married Clara C. Wozniak Boroski on October 12, 1946. In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, James W. Boroski and his wife Nancy of Canajoharie, N.Y.; one daughter, Sandra Boroski Juliano of Albany, N.Y.; two sisters, Celia Dziadul of Scotia, N.Y. and Irene Klejsmyt of Rotterdam, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Jeff Juliano and wife Lisa Juliano, Jason Juliano, Elizabeth, Brenda, Robert, Bonnie, Kimberly and Kenneth Boroski; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam followed by a funeral Mass at 9:15 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Cornell St., Amsterdam with Father Gulley as celebrant and Father Walter Czechowicz as con-celebrant. Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 20, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
