KARSHNER John Philemon Karshner II, 54, of Jacksonville, Florida, died suddenly on August 29, 2005, as a result of a vehicular accident. He was born October 10, 1950 in Chillicothe, Ohio.He was a 1968 graduate of Central High School in Phoenix and received his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Ohio University in Athens. He worked at the Ross County Sheriff's Department as a deputy and served on the original SWAT team. He also worked as a special agent for the Ohio Department of Liquor Control. After twenty-two years of service he retired in January as a senior special agent for the NCIS (Naval Intelligence). John will be sadly missed by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Kimberly Hallin Karshner, and their daughters Kelly Ann and Kathryn Nicole; parents John and Donna Pritchard Karshner of Adelphi; brothers Norman Karshner, Phillip (Andria)Karshner and Vic Karshner; sister, Teresa ( John) Sulzer; sister-in-law Karen (Gary) Erdos, brother-in-law Dave Hallin; uncles, Charles ( Sharon) Pritchard and David Pritchard and David O. (Joyce) Jones; aunts Marjorie Heckler and Dr. Mary Ann Jones; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Service Friday September 9, 7pm at Switzerland Community Church. John was happiest on the softball fields watching and coaching his beloved daughters. Friends may make memorial contributions to the Karshner Softball Scholarship Fund at any Bank of America.
