John Patrick Mahon II passed away on Thursday, April 8, at the St. Francis Hospital located in Trenton. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 22, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown. Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of Robert L. Pecht, Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, N.J. www.bordentownhomeforfunerals.com. Born in Trenton, John resided in St. Martinsville, La., before moving back to the Bordentown area. John served honorably in the United States Navy on board the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. John was an avid collector of American Indian artifacts and gave lectures on arrowheads to the local grammar school. He also enjoyed playing his guitar. The son of the late John Patrick I. and Mary Mahon, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary (Minx) McDonough and Kathleen D. Mahon. He is survived by his son, John Patrick Mahon III; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth Ann and William Neylan, Patti and Mickey DeSantis; Aunt Glenda Hill; his grandchildren, Arianna Seraphim, Hart Bernard and Mika Jade Mahon, and many nieces, nephews, friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to the Bordentown Home for Funerals.
