John P. McKenna, 38, of San Diego, CA, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 9, 2013, surrounded by family. He was the son of Lizette Michel of Plymouth, MA and John and Kim McKenna of San Diego, CA. John was a fisherman by trade and an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for taking kids outdoors and teaching them how to enjoy nature through hunting and fishing. John is survived by four sisters Michelle Holloway of Sawyer, MI, Jodie Hoag of Plymouth, Kristen McKenna of Plymouth and Sarah White-McKenna of San Diego, CA and a brother Patrick McKenna of Plymouth. He is also survived by his good friend and angel Sara Andolina of San Diego, CA and grandmothers Janet Michel of Lakeville and Annie McKenna of Halifax. Also has many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. John was a loving and caring parental figure to Caroline Goyette, Teresa Fleischman and Tiffney Fleischman. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Plymouth Moose Lodge, 739 State Rd., Plymouth, MA 02360. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the John P. McKenna Youth Fishing Derby, 2110 State Rd., Plymouth, MA 02360.
