CHESHIRE - John Michaud, 42, of Brubaker Road, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at his residence. He was the husband of Diane (Schmeer) Michaud. Mr. Michaud was born in Waterbury, the son of John and Evelyn (Brodeur) Michaud. He raised in Wolcott having graduated from Wolcott High School in 1982 and moved to Cheshire in 1985. He was a graduate of Johnson and Wales University and had worked in several area restaurants. He was currently employed as a Senior Engineering Recruiter for RJS Associates in Hartford. Mr. Michaud enjoyed mountain biking, skiing, and especially off-roading in his Land Rover. The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Tansino, Dr. Peter Leff, Dr. David Sack, the ER staff and the nurses of Pavilion B at MidState Medical Center for their kindness and support. Mr. Michaud's family also wishes to thank Bob Majeski and his staff of Connecticut Hospice in Wallingford for his care and compassion.Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Michaud is survived by his son, Alexander of Cheshire; two brothers, Steven M. Michaud of Cheshire and Christopher A. Michaud and his wife, Sharon Clapp of Wolcott; a sister, Heather Michaud Kulenski and her husband, Stanley of Cheshire; two nieces, Elizabeth and Sarah Kulenski of Cheshire; his grandmother, Evelyn Brodeur of Cheshire; his father and mother-in-law, Erich and Suzanne Schmeer of Wolcott; his brother-in-law, Erich M. Schmeer of Wolcott; his sister-in-law, Ellen Schmeer of Wolcott. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Armand Brodeur Sr., Alexander and Melida Michaud.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 59 Main St., Cheshire. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire.
