COLUMBIA, N.C. John Michael Keeley III, 65, of Rhodes Road, Columbia, died December 3, 2005 at his home. He was born in New York to the late Francis John (Bud) and Maude Anita Joyce (Ann Fonda) and stepson of the late Fred E. Fonda Sr. Mr. Keeley was a retired member of the U.S. Navy of 30 years and the Merchant Marines. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3160 and Disabled Veterans. Survivors include one son, John Michael Keeley IV of Norfolk, Va.; one brother, Fred E. Fonda Jr. of Averill Park, N.Y.; five sisters, Kathleen K. Haralambopoulos (Harry) of Athens, Greece, Mary K. Valenti of Center Brunswick, N.Y., Joyce K. Brickhouse (Gerald) of Columbia, Colleen K. Duelser (David) of St. Johnsville, N.Y. and Ann (Sissy) Winnicki (Mark) of West Sand Lake, N.Y.; and one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren; one aunt and two uncles; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Columbia Christian Church with Glenn Brickhouse officiating. The family will receive visitors at the home of Joyce Brickhouse, 5945 Soundside Rd., Columbia. A family memorial will be held at a later date in Troy, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Cancer Society. Smith & Austin-Walker Chapel of Columbia is serving the Keeley family.
