ASHLEY, John Martin III, 58, passed away July 6, 2009, in Bradenton, Fla. Mr. Ashley was born and raised in Gainesville, Fla., and had lived in Bradenton for the last three years. He retired from the Florida Department of Corrections after 33 years of service. He was very proud of his sons and loved being with them. Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Frances Ashley, and his brother, Rodney Ashley. He is survived by his wife, Angela Ashley of Bradenton; four sons, Jason (Erika) Ashley of Gainesville, Mark Ashley of Las Vegas, Nev., Randall Ashley of Bradenton and Logan Ashley of Bradenton; a stepdaughter, Amanda Roberts of Groveland; and two grandchildren, Layla and Josiah Ashley of Gainesville. The funeral service for Mr. Ashley will take place 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Williams Thomas Downtown Chapel, 404 N. Main St., with burial following at Memorial Park Central. Pastor Gordon E.
