John M. Harrington of Mansfield, formerly of Weymouth, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Epoch of Norton. He was 88 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Farrer) Harrington for 58 years. Born in Boston on Sept. 13, 1922, he was the loving son of the late Michael and Catherine Harrington. He graduated from Arlington High School and served in the United Stated Army during World War II where he was stationed in England. Mr. Harrington worked for the Boston Globe until his retirement after 25 years of service. Mr. Harrington is survived by his children Laraine Keating of Hopedale, Kathleen Harrington of Attleborough, Jacelyn OSullivan of Norwood and Linda Chadwick of Mansfield. He was the cherished grandfather of Kaitlin, Kevin and James Keating, Meghan and Alyssa Chadwick and the late Ryan Keating. He was the dear brother of Rev. James Harrington of Manchester by The Sea, Helen Nugent of Lynnfield, Catherine Hallinan of Arlington, Ann Kelley of Tewksbury and the late Mary Rudder of Hanover. Arrangements are being made by the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main St., Mansfield. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 55 Commercial St., N. Weymouth on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends were kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours were held on Friday, from 4-7 p.m. Interment in Old North Cemetery in Weymouth.
