John Lucas Hobart John Lucas, age 75, of Hobart, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at Methodist Southlake Campus. He was retired from Gary Works, U.S. Steel Co. Member of C.I.O. Local 1014, Silver Bell Lodge #2365, American Legion Post #207, Northwest Retirees, Veteran of Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army, former member of Holy Family Church and currently a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Ignatz and Rose Lucas, brother, Leo Lucas, sister, Eva Bodnar, great-grandchildren, David and Christina. He is survived by his wife Eleanore, with whom they were to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on May 29, 2004; three sons: Keith (Debbie) Lucas and Lance Lucas, both of Hobart, Johnny (Selina) Lucas of Cedar lake; two daughters Renata (fiance Nestor) Romero of Hobart and Roseann (Richard) Troutman of Crown Point; daughter-in-law: Ann Lucas of Hobart; grandchildren: Brian, Kevin and Alyson Rodziewicz, Joey Springsteen, Keith Lucas, Jr., Joshua Lucas, Sara Troutman and Jessica Lucas; two brothers, Paul Lucas of Gary and Don (Doty) Lucas of Griffith; six sisters: Julia Brown of Merrillville, Helen Malich of Crown Point, Elizabeth "Toots" Pruitt of Hobart, Vera Bauldauf of Merrillville, Catherine Flick and Genevieve Conley, both of Rensselaer, IN. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m on Sunday at the Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St., Merrillville. (with a Northwest Retirees service at 3:00 p.m., American Legion Post Service 4:00 p.m. and Prayer service 6:00 p.m.). Funeral services Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the chapel and 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church with Rev. Stephan Loncar officiating. Burial, Calumet Park Cemetery.
