Arrington, John L. Sr. RENSSELAER John L. Arrington Sr., 84, departed his life at home on Wednesday morning, March 18, 2015. Originally from Clarksdale, Miss., he was the son of the late Houston Sr. and Clarissa Arrington. Survived by wife Hattie Mae; children, Emma Leigh, Bobby McNeal, Diane Arrington-Stokem (Kenneth), John L. Jr. (Deneen), Shannel (David) Martin, Mary (James) Richardson, Minnie Harris and Sabrina Arrington (Albert), and by 28 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, "brother" Willie D, and a host of family and friends. Special appreciation to granddaughters, Leah Butler and Benita Leigh-Lewis, for the loving care provided to him in his final weeks and to Robert Harrison Jr. for his love and support. Predeceased by son Anthony Lawrence; brothers, Houston and Nelson, and sisters, Violet Braddock and Bessie Harrison. John was employed by the Tobin Meat Packing Co., the New York State Department of Education, and St. Peter's Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Missionary Fund or Building Fund. Calling hours are Monday, March 23, 2015, at 9 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 58 Alexander St., Albany.
