John (Jack) L. Gladwin, III New York Mills John (Jack) L. Gladwin, III, 60, of New York Mills, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2008, after a long illness. He was born April 29, 1948, in Utica, the son of Violet Krug Gladwin and the late John L. Gladwin, Jr. Jack was a graduate of Whitesboro Central High School. He furthered his education at SUNY Canton, where he earned his A.A.S. in Business Administration, and Syracuse University, where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration. Mr. Gladwin was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, aboard the USS J.F. Kennedy. He married Tonette Peters. Mr. Gladwin was currently employed with Human Technologies Corporation, Utica, as Corporate Recruiter. His previous professional experience includes: owner/manager of the Press Box Restaurant, Norwalk, OH, V.P. Human Resources at Industrial Powder Coatings, Norwalk, OH, Human Resource Manager at Mayflower Vehicle Systems, Norwalk, OH, V.P. Human Resources for Janesville Products, Norwalk, OH, Director of Personnel and Industrial Relations at The Rotor Tool Company, Euclid, OH, and Regional Personnel Manager for Unysis in Utica, NY, Bristol, TN, and Cleveland, OH. Jack was very active in the community. He served in the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department as Lieutenant and Past President; the American Legion New Hartford Post #1376; AMVets, Yorkville; he was active with the Greater Utica United Way; served as a Church Elder and Chairperson of the Stewardship Committee; and while in Ohio was Past President of the Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce, Huron County Personnel Association, and DECA Advisor for Norwalk City Schools. Besides his mother, Violet, and Tonette, Jack is survived by his son, William 'Lee' Wallace, of Norwalk, OH, and his family; several cousins and other family members, including Delores and John Zawada, Donald and Wanda Gladwin, Rose Gladwin, Irene Worden, Maynard Krug, Virginia Alm, Roger Krug and Margaret Krug; and numerous friends and co-workers. Jack's family gives special thanks to Dr. Razia and her staff for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to The Abraham House or Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Memorial services will be Thursday, 4:00 p.m., at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro. Members of the Yorkville Fire Department and Auxiliary will pay their respects at the funeral home just prior to the service. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery at the convenience of the family. "Jack"
