JOHN "JACK" L. BAUER, III John "Jack" L. Bauer, III, of Bethesda, MD, died unexpectedly at his home Dec. 21, 2012 of a heart attack. Known for his larger-than-life personality, Jack (37) spread joy and happiness to all he met. His affinity for the outdoors took him to all 50 States, Nepal, Europe, The Amazon, and Central America. In his role as Senior Vice President of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, he focused on the multifamily housing industry. A man of confidence and sure of his values, colleagues appreciated Jack's problem solving skills, business savvy, and his unique way of building consensus. With his ability to connect and communicate with people from all walks of life Jack sought constantly to encourage and help others. Born in Middletown, Ohio, he moved to Fairfax, VA with his family in 1984. A graduate of Washington & Lee University, VA, Jack is survived by his wife Lauren; his son John, IV; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John L. Bauer, Jr., Vero Beach, FL & VA; his sister Elizabeth Bauer Henrickson; David Henrickson; his much-loved niece and nephew, Libby & Andrew Henrickson, Warrenton, VA; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. George S. Cunningham, Vero Beach, FL where he visited annually since he was 6 weeks old. Jack was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, George S. Cunningham, Vero Beach, FL and his paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. John L. Bauer, Middletown, OH. Jack will be deeply missed by his extended family and legions of friends. A celebration of Jack's life was held Dec. 28, 2012 at Christ Church, in Alexandria, VA.
