September 12, 2012 John Keith McDonald, 83, of Portland, OR, formerly of Fayetteville, NY, died September 12, 2012. Keith was a self-employed geotechnical engineer. He was noted for preparing the ground to support tall buildings, keeping houses from toppling off cliffs, and re-supporting houses after mud slides in Oregon. Wife Vera predeceased him in 2008. Survivors include sons Brian of Portland, OR, and Dan of Texas; four grandchildren; brothers Jim, Bill, Dan and Emmett in the Syracuse area; and sister Kathleen of Texas.
