John K. Henry III, 72, died Feb. 12, 2009, at Putnam Community Medical Center. He was born in Pittsburg and lived in Palatka since 1982, coming from Fort Pierce. He was a veteran of the Army Reserve, honorably discharged in 1961. Before retirement, he was a bus driver for Putnam County, Seminole Electric and at the Fort Pierce Power Plant. He was a member of Pine Tree Road Baptist Church and was a past member of First Assembly of God. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 248 in Fort Pierce and was a dual member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3822 of Interlachen and Green Cove Springs. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Betty Henry; stepson, Tom Flatter of Palatka; sisters, Ada Blodgett of Lake City, Susan Henry of Lake City and Emma Henry of Jacksonville; and brothers, Ted Henry of Yulee, and Bob Henry and Jim Henry both of Fort Lauderdale. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 18 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 19 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
