JOHN BUTTS, III MERRITT ISLAND John K. Butts, III, Jake died on Monday, February 20, 2006 at his home in Merritt Island from lung and bone cancer . He was born in Sandusky, Ohio on September 24, 1955 and moved to Melbourne, FL in 1988 from Ohio. Johns career was in the hos pitality industry and for the last 12 years was employed by the Indian River Colony Club, most recently as the Dining Room Manager at the At Ease Club. John was preceded in death by his beloved paternal grand mother, Catherine Anderson; his mother, Linda Gilbert on February 20, 1988 at 50 yrs. old; and his maternal grandpar ents, Norma and Bob Kessler. John is survived by his fa ther, John (Jack) Butts, Jr.; numerous siblings in the Sand uskry, Ohio area and his part ner, Michael L. Pecko of Merritt Island, Florida. A Celebration of Johns life will be held at Colony Hall, Indi an River Colony Club in Viera, Florida on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IRCC Foundation, in memory of John, to assist other employees facing hardships.
