John Joseph O'Donnell II died May 7, 2010 at home. He was born in Newark, N.J., and lived there and Passaic, N.J., before going to Belleville, N.J., 45 years ago. He retired as a roofer from the Roofers Union Local 4 Parsippany, N.J. Mr. O'Donnell served in the Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his loving children, Susan Merkel and her husband, Peter, and John J. O'Donnell III and his wife, Renee; his devoted grandchildren Gavin, Tegan, Caden and Quinn; and his beloved sister Joan Francisco and her husband, Doug. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley. Interment will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
