John Joseph Horan passed away on August 28, 2003. He was born on March 4, 1938 in NYC to John and Frances Hill Horan. John was a longtime resident of Mahopac and owned and operated the Lantern Pub for 20 years. He later owned and operated Hugo's Restaurant in Peekskill for many years. Five years ago he retired to St. John's, the US Virgin Islands. He served in the US Army. He was known for his sense of humor, practical jokes and always helping a friend. He was also known for his stubborn streak. John is survived by his wife, Barbara Horan; his two sons Joey and Walter; his daughter Linda; and five grandchildren: Jaimianne, Michael, Sean, Ryan and Nicole. Lastly, he is survived by his loyal extended family in Coral Bay, St. John's. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Friday at the Church of the Assumption. Family will receive friends at the E.O. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, 313 No. James St., Peekskill on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Interment Hillside Cemetery.
