O'Donnell, John Jack IIIJan. 25, 1945 - Feb. 16, 2010John Jack O'Donnell III, 65, of Sarasota, formerly of Bryn Mawr, Pa., died Feb. 16, 2010.A funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas More Church, Sarasota. Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Jack, only child of the late Dot and Bud O'Donnell, was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Drawn by the sun and sand, Jack made Sarasota his home for the past 10 years. He found many friends in Sarasota, including a special group of individuals who welcomed him into their social life and provided him with tremendous care and support during a time of need. Jack was a dedicated volunteer for the Guardian Ad Litem organization, touching the lives of many vulnerable children. He was an active member of a national organization that offers education and support for those suffering from HemiFacial Spasm disorder.Jack is survived by his Sarasota friends Joan March, Irene White, Sylvia Pirhalla and Liz Shuttleworth and his longtime friends Bob and Jane Rivera and Karen Schauman of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by an aunt and cousins in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.Memorial contributions in the name of John J. O'Donnell III, may be made to the Guardian Ad Litem Program, c/o Pam Kindman, Criminal Justice Center, Suite 625, 2071 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34237.
